Finnish Natl Orch-Beethoven at Helsinki Music Center
At the Festival’s opening concert on 15 August, Chief Conductor Hannu Lintu conducts the Orchestra of the FNO and soprano Karita Mattila. The concert features the works of Beethoven, Wagner and Scriabin, and the opening piece, The Wrath of God by Sofia Gubaidulina, will be performed for the first time in Finland.

- The ferry departs from the east side of the Market Square, opposite the Presidential Palace. In Suomenlinna, the ferry arrives at and departs from the main pier of Iso Mustasaari island, on the north shore of Suomenlinna.

- WeeGee is a museum, exhibition and event hub in Tapiola, Espoo. It houses two museums, EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art and KAMU Espoo City Museum, as well as Mauri Kunnas Exhibition. WeeGee also houses the museum shop EMMA Shop and the Café Zoceria WeeGee. In the yard is the famous Futuro house, designed by architect Matti Suuronen, which is open to the public from May to September. WeeGee offers visitors experiences and inspiration all year round.
